<video:title>Boscombe Pier to Bournemouth Pier Circular Walk</video:title>
      <video:description>
Have you ever wondered what the distance is between Boscombe Pier and Bournemouth Pier? I have – so I thought I’d take the opportunity to cover the entire distance between the two piers and share the results in a video.

Luckily, Jasmin had time that day to join me. We turned our endeavour into a full circular walk, starting at the Boscombe Chine Gardens.

We then followed the promenade from Boscombe Pier to Bournemouth Pier, and saw the Lower Gardens and Bournemouth Square.

This time’s pub stop is The Brass Haus, styled after the traditional bierkellers of Germany.

The return journey took us over the East Cliff back to where we started.

Thanks to Jasmin and The Brass Haus, Bournemouth!

      <video:title>Schmallenberg Upper Town to Old Town via Mount Wilzenberg</video:title>
      <video:description>
Experience one of rural Germany’s hidden gems: the town of Schmallenberg in the Sauerland mountains. I gathered some friends to hike up Mount Wilzenberg, known as ‘the Holy Mountain of the Sauerland’.

I’ll also show you around Schmallenberg’s old town and some of its sights. On top of that, this episode features a local pub, where we’ll meet the humorous landlord, who has an interesting nickname. In fact, nicknames play a certain role in this video. Enjoy!

      <video:description>
This walk really has it all: beaches, a picturesque village, a Victorian seaside town, rolling hills, and spectacular clifftop views. There’s also a bit of history to explore, and to make it more interesting, even the weather presented some variety on this Sunday in May. My route mostly followed the South West Coast Path, with a detour via Ballard Down.

      <video:title>A Walk Up Montaña Chayofita, Playa de las Américas, Tenerife</video:title>
      <video:description>
I went for a walk outside my usual area once again, and this time, I visited the resort of Playa de las Américas on the island of Tenerife, located in the Canary Islands of Spain.

Jasmin and I walked up Montaña Chayofita, a 371ft high mountain, which offered spectacular views of Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos. We started this walk at Estadio Antonio Domínguez Alfonso, climbed up the mountain, and finished at Las Vistas Beach.

We visited the Brahms & Liszt pub at the end of our trip, which is named after an expression with a secret meaning in the Cockney rhyming slang! Watch the video to find out more about this tropical island walk and Playa de las Américas.

      <video:title>Wareham to Corfe Castle Countryside Walk in Dorset, South West England</video:title>
      <video:description>
Join me on this beautiful and sometimes amusing 8.3mi walk from Wareham to Corfe Castle. I had initially planned to walk even farther but the naughty cows gave me some trouble … See for yourself!

During my journey, which mostly led over the Purbeck Way, I discovered

Wareham,
The rivers Frome and Piddle,
Stoborough Heath,
Creech Heath,
Corfe Castle and the village of the same name,

and much more.

I’m hoping that you’ll enjoy the journey as much as I did. If you do, please leave me a like or subscribe to this channel. Cheers.

      <video:description>
For a couple of years now, Bournemouth has been hosting Christmas Tree Wonderland in the Lower Gardens in addition to the Christmas market stalls at Bournemouth Square. I took a stroll through the market and saw the wonderful Christmas trees and the ice rink in the Lower Gardens. This was also where I had a cup of mulled cider, and Moguls Alpine Bar at the ice rink served as my pub on this short journey.

Remembrance Sunday at the Bournemouth War Memorial in the Central Gardens, 12 November 2023.

If you like, please take a look at my website: https://walksandpubs.uk/. Thank you.

I went to the Remembrance Sunday Service as I do in most years. As I was there anyway, I thought that I could make a video of it.

There wasn’t much walking involved this time but I usually conclude my attendance with a breakfast at the pub, so at least half the requirements for this channel were met!

      <video:description>
My first ever Walks & Pubs walk took me from Dorchester to Weymouth and concluded at The Red Lion pub.

On this journey, the sights I saw included beautiful churches, a stunning countryside with nice views, 4,000-year-old barrows and charming towns and villages.

Some of the places I visited were Dorchester, Fordington and St George’s Church, Winterborne Came, the Dorset Jubilee Trail, the Came Wood Bronze Age Cemetery, Sutton Poyntz and Weymouth.

The video features St Peter’s Church in Winterborne Came which is being looked after by The Churches Conservation Trust. Please consider giving them a donation. https://www.visitchurches.org.uk/donate.html

      <video:title>Walks & Pubs Trailer</video:title>
      <video:description>
Hello. I’m Florian, and this is my channel Walks & Pubs. Welcome!

I like to take long and short walks, primarily in Dorset in South West England, where I’m based. Along the way, I like to showcase the natural beauty of the area and share interesting facts and stories.

Occasionally, I’ll also take walks in neighbouring counties like Hampshire or Wiltshire, or even in other areas of England, or abroad.

And let’s be honest: what better way to end a walk than a visit to a pub? Rather than reviewing pubs, I want to celebrate the English pub as an institution and as a great place to go – especially after a walk.

Join me if you like this concept, and most importantly, please subscribe to my channel. It’s free and motivates me to create future content. Thanks, and hopefully see you soon. Cheers!
