May 2026 walk
Posted on 24 May 2026
I was on another proper adventure yesterday, and one thing I can promise is that the future video will be packed with stunning views. Can you guess where I took this photo?
As usual, it’ll take me a little while to produce the video. I do all my own research, write the voiceovers, and edit everything myself.
In the meantime, why not watch my latest video about Broadstone, the Roman Road and the Castleman Trailway?

See you soon!
🚨 New video 🚨
Posted on 8 May 2026
On this walk, I explore two historic routes – an old Roman Road and an old railway, now known as the Castleman Trailway.
Walking in the footsteps of Vespasian and Charles Castleman, I’ll also see parts of Upton Heath, discover an ancient oak tree, pass through busy and quieter areas, and learn more about the history of the area.
I’ll finish at a former railway hotel, so come and join me in Broadstone near Poole, Dorset, for another episode of Walks & Pubs.
New walking video coming up
Posted on 5 May 2026
The wait will soon be over… This Friday at 1pm BST, there’ll be a new video. This time, I’m in a place that has recently been elevated to town status: Broadstone near Poole in Dorset.
I’ll take an 8.9mi walk via two historic routes – and visit a pub that was once a railway hotel.
You’ll find Friday’s link to the video here or on YouTube: youtube.com/@walksandpubs. See you then! 👋🥾🍺
Bournemouth Town Centre Easter Walk

I took a 2.3mi walk through Bournemouth town centre and saw Bournemouth Pier, the Lower Gardens, St Peter’s Church, the shopping streets, and more on this Easter Sunday. Enjoy the video!
Poole area walk
Posted on 13 March 2026
Spring is almost here – time to get walking again! 🌿
For this episode, I was out exploring the northwest of Poole, following two mostly linear pathways.
I’ve already started editing the video, so stay tuned – I’ll let you know as soon as the new episode is ready.

Boscombe Pier to Bournemouth Pier Circular Walk
Posted on 12 September 2025
Have you ever wondered what the distance is between Boscombe Pier and Bournemouth Pier? I have – so I thought I’d take the opportunity to cover the entire distance between the two piers and share the results in a video.
Luckily, Jasmin had time that day to join me. We turned our endeavour into a full circular walk, starting at the Boscombe Chine Gardens.
We then followed the promenade from Boscombe Pier to Bournemouth Pier, and saw the Lower Gardens and Bournemouth Square.
This time’s pub stop is The Brass Haus, styled after the traditional bierkellers of Germany.
The return journey took us over the East Cliff back to where we started.

Schmallenberg Upper Town to Old Town via Mount Wilzenberg
Posted on 22 November 2024
Experience one of rural Germany’s hidden gems: the town of Schmallenberg in the Sauerland mountains. I gathered some friends to hike up Mount Wilzenberg, known as ‘the Holy Mountain of the Sauerland’.
I’ll also show you around Schmallenberg’s old town and some of its sights. On top of that, this episode features a local pub, where we’ll meet the humorous landlord, who has an interesting nickname. In fact, nicknames play a certain role in this video. Enjoy!
New episode tomorrow
Posted on 21 November 2024
Get ready for the latest episode, premiering tomorrow at 1pm GMT.
I’ll be visiting a neat small town in Germany, and gathering some friends to hike up the area’s most significant mountain. There’ll be plenty of things to explore so check back tomorrow from 1pm for the link to the video. You can watch it exclusively here on my website or my YouTube channel. Cheers! 🥾🍺
There’s something going on…

There’ll be a new episode of Walks & Pubs this week where I’ll explore one of rural Germany’s hidden gems. This includes a visit to an observation tower. You can see its reflection in the puddle. Watch this space to find out more.
Bournemouth Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade
Posted on 11 November 2024
Many people attended this year’s Remembrance Sunday Ceremony, including me. I took footage of the arrival of the participants, the Act of Remembrance, the National Anthem, the Laying of Wreaths and the Parade.
South Haven Point to Peveril Point via South West Coast Path and Ballard Down
Posted on 20 September 2024
🎥 New video. 🎥 This walk really had it all: beaches, a picturesque village, a Victorian seaside town, rolling hills, and spectacular clifftop views. There was also a bit of history to explore, and to make it more interesting, even the weather presented some variety on this Sunday in May. My route mostly followed the South West Coast Path, with a detour via Ballard Down. 🥾🍺
🚨 New video tomorrow 🚨

Keep your eyes peeled for my new video that’ll be published tomorrow at 1pm BST. I visited three of the four locations you can see on the signpost. (Hint: ‘WC’ wasn’t one of them. 😂)

Isle of Purbeck and Germany walks
Posted on 8 June 2024
Recently, I went on a walk from Studland to Swanage and also visited Germany to go on another walk there. It’ll take me some time to get the videos ready to watch but as you can see, new Walks & Pubs adventures are waiting for you.
Boscombe Cliff Gardens
Posted on 18 May 2024
The Boscombe Cliff Gardens on a Saturday morning. It was such a calm and relaxed atmosphere and I met a sleepy goat! 🐐 For more pictures, please have a look at my WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook channels.
I’ll be going on another walk here in Dorset tomorrow, but it will take some time before the episode about it is ready to watch. In the meantime, you could watch the video about my recent trip to Tenerife, if you haven’t already. Have a great weekend, everyone!
A Walk Up Montaña Chayofita, Playa de las Américas, Tenerife
Posted on 10 May 2024
I went for a walk outside my usual area once again, and this time, I visited the resort of Playa de las Américas on the island of Tenerife, located in the Canary Islands of Spain.
Jasmin and I walked up Montaña Chayofita, a 371ft high mountain, which offered spectacular views of Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos. We started this walk at Estadio Antonio Domínguez Alfonso, climbed up the mountain, and finished at Las Vistas Beach.
We visited the Brahms & Liszt pub at the end of our trip, which is named after an expression with a secret meaning in the Cockney rhyming slang! Watch the video to find out more about this tropical island walk and Playa de las Américas.
Upcoming video

🚨 First video of 2024! 🚨
Posted on 15 March 2024
This time, I took a walk from Wareham to Corfe Castle to see the beautiful Isle of Purbeck (a peninsula).
During my 8.3mi journey along the Purbeck Way, I came across many breathtaking landscapes, including heathlands, forests, and even encountered some mischievous cows. 🥾🏰🌳🚣🐄🌲🍺

Remembrance Sunday in Bournemouth
Posted on 9 March 2024
I attended the Bournemouth Remembrance Sunday Service in November and filmed the following parade. Not much walking was involved this time, but I went to the pub to have breakfast afterwards. 🍳🌭🥓🍞
London excursion
Posted on 5 March 2024
In October, I had my first Walks & Pubs excursion together with my wife Jasmin. We had a great time seeing many of London’s main sights and paid only £8.10 per person to get around on foot and via the London Underground. It was a fantastic experience! 🥾🚆💂🏙️
Swanage Beach to Durlston Castle
Posted on 2 March 2024
In September, my friend Kevin and I went on a spontaneous walk in Swanage and Durlston. First, we explored the beautiful beaches and the charming town centre of Swanage. Afterwards, we headed up to Durlston Castle and The Great Globe. We were blessed with glorious weather and enjoyed the breathtaking views across Durlston Bay. Although I did not make a video on that occasion, I did take a couple of impressive pictures. Feel free to check them out.
Bournemouth Queen’s Park to St Leonard
Posted on 24 February 20246
During my second walk from Bournemouth Queen’s Park to St Leonards, I came across various landscapes and sceneries. The route was a mix of a beautiful park in a bustling town, busy roads, an international airport, quaint villages in the countryside, an abandoned mill, the longest river in Dorset, and a dense forest. At the end of this 11mi walk, I found a pub where I could sit and enjoy a cold pint. 🍻
Dorchester to Weymouth
Posted on 21 February 2024
After trying out my new equipment, I took my first proper walk in the Dorset countryside. It led me from Dorchester to Weymouth where I encountered friendly locals, an unusual war memorial, and ancient barrows.
Looking back
Posted on 18 February 2024Until a new episode of Walks & Pubs goes online, I’d like to look back at the episodes of 2023. The first was my ‘test walk’. It is the first video I ever made and looks very amateurish. Hopefully, you’ll be able to see that I improved over time. 🤞
Back from the break
Posted on 13 February 2024
I’ve returned from my winter break, and I’m excited to share that I received a new hat and a better camera at Christmas. 🧢📷 I still have video footage from a walk I took in Dorset last year and I’m planning to create another episode of Walks & Pubs soon. Recently, I took another walk at a beautiful location. Can you guess where this place is? 🏝
