Welcome to my first ‘mission’ outside my regular area which took me to the UK’s and England’s capital and biggest city, which is of course: London. On this walk, I saw many famous London sights from the outside and by only walking and taking the London Underground twice, paid only £8.10 for it.
Fortunately, I wasn’t alone this time as I was accompanied by my wife Jasmin. Our journey turned out to be amazing, doing sightseeing on the first day and having a more laid-back approach on the second. On this second day, we visited a concert by The Lancashire Hotpots and had some great fun.
Let’s start with the first day though. We started our journey at Victoria Coach Station where we had arrived from Bournemouth. After having breakfast at Victoria Railway Station, we made our way to Buckingham Palace.

City of Westminster and London Borough of Lambeth
From the palace, we headed to The Mall and after a few yards, took a stroll through St James’s Park until we arrived at Horse Guards Parade. From there, we continued our walk past Admiralty Arch to Trafalgar Square.
We then saw Whitehall with its monuments and government buildings until arriving at the Palace of Westminster with Elizabeth Tower, which is also known as Big Ben. From here, Westminster Abbey and the London Eye weren’t far. After seeing all this, we went to Westminster Station to catch the Tube to Blackfriars Station.

City of London
Having arrived at Blackfriars, a ten-minute walk took us to St Paul’s Cathedral. We made this route a circular by walking down to the Thames from the cathedral and then returned to Blackfriars Station to take the Underground to Tower Hill Station.

London Borough of Tower Hamlets
From Tower Hill Station, the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge weren’t far, and we concluded our journey after that.

During our one-night stay, we visited several pubs to have breakfast and dinner (or ‘tea’ for the ‘Hotpots’ amongst you) in the City of Westminster at London Victoria Station, in the City of London near Tower Hill, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets near Tower Gateway and again in the City of Westminster at Charing Cross Road. This last pub was also the place where we had a pint in ‘preparation’ for The Lancashire Hotpots concert in the evening at The 100 Club. Please enjoy the pictures of our second day in London.
